This is my Yes year – after reading the book Year of Yes, I found something curious.
My resistance to myself has been melting away. By saying Yes to me, to life – my energy is flowing more strongly and certainly than ever before.
Did messy, complicated, strange things come up? For sure. Emotions I’ve held a lid on for years are presenting to be released.
And I release them. And as I do, guess what else gets to come out?
Fun.
What a great word!
How much do we actively give attention to fun things in our lives? Sure, we dream and wish – but actually make concrete, grounded plans?
That was a bit of a new thing for me. I am a driven, motivated self-starter. Serious, even. And I love that part of myself – it is a source of strength, wisdom and perseverance.
But sometimes, not fun.
So having a breath, a breeze of fun things blow through – was amazing. Life giving, even.
Is it unnerving to sit still with all the messiness and be present to witness it and release it? Yes. It takes courage.
But with that courage, that fortitude, I am more alive and strong and whole than I have ever been.
I am less depressed than I have ever been.
I am more solution-oriented than I have ever been.
And – I am enjoying myself. My life.
What a sweet deal!
I invite you to take a deep breath and ground your body – and start to become aware of the things that are releasing. Allow them to pass through. Be present with your pain, your anger, your helplessness, your rage.
Amazingly, none of that lasts forever. You can make it through. It’s not nearly as tough as holding all of that down inside yourself. And when you have let go of all of that emotional energy, you become wiser. Lighter. Clearer. More buoyant.
More fun. More of who you really are.
And that’s the point, dear one.
Blessings,
Kelly
